What is a Repeat Prescription?
If your doctor thinks it appropriate you may obtain medicines on a repeat prescription without having to see him/her; they are issued at the doctor’s discretion and are normally for patients on long-term treatment. However, you will be asked to attend for a review of your condition needs checking. Your medication will also need checking to ensure it is still having the desired effect and no changes to dose or type of medication are required. The date of when a medication review is due is shown on the bottom right-hand side of your prescription (the prescription counterfoil).
Medication will NOT automatically be issued where ‘Medication Reviews’ are out of date. Please check the date on your prescription to ensure the supplies of your medication are not delayed.
Whichever method you use for ordering a repeat prescription, please allow 48 hours for us to process the request. If you need it sooner then please tell reception so they can alert the doctor

Another straightforward way of requesting repeat medication is via PATCHS. In addition, regular prescriptions such as for the contraceptive pill or for minor ailments can be accessed in this manner. - Online
Alternatively, you can register for online services. Simply log in to the online portal and visit the medication section. You then tick the prescriptions you want. If the medication you need is not on the list then use the ‘make a custom request’ section and type your request in the box - By email
